While helping our clients with managing their social media presences, we are often asked – “But which social media platforms should I be focusing on?”
The answer is simple – Only those where your target audience is spending their time 🙂
To help you work out where your audience might be playing, we’re going to compile a monthly update for you on the South Australian user bases on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
South Australian Social Media Statistics – brought to you by Digital Marketing AOK
Facebook Users in South Australia (February 2019)
As of 23 February 2019, there were 1.1 million Facebook users aged 18-65+ living in South Australia. This is down by 100,000 from last month, likely due to a number of platforms ‘cleaning up’ fake accounts.
52% of these users were female, and 48% were male.
Rounded to the nearest thousand, here is a clearer breakdown of age brackets:
Instagram Users in South Australia (February 2019)
As of 23 February 2019, there were just under 570,000 Instagram users aged 18-65+ living in South Australia.
57% of these users were female, and 43% were male.
Rounded to the nearest thousand, here is a clearer breakdown of age brackets:
LinkedIn Users in South Australia (February 2019)
As of 23 February 2019, there were 480,000 LinkedIn users aged 18-65+ living in South Australia.
Interestingly, when using the platform targeting tools to look at gender and age breakdown, the numbers don’t quite add up. We can only assume that this is because there are many LinkedIn profiles that are incomplete, where a user has not specified their gender or age.
From the numbers that we can see, roughly 45% of these users were female, and 55% were male.
Rounded to the nearest thousand, here is a clearer breakdown of age brackets:
